A 94-year-old pensioner has been nicknamed 'Wonder Woman' by nurses after she recovered from coronavirus.
Maureen Appleby was treated at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, after she fell and broke four ribs.
In hospital, medics spotted Ms Appleby had coronavirus symptoms and she was diagnosed with the disease.
It's believed she contracted Covid-19 before being admitted to hospital and that she caught it from her son John, 69.
John had not travelled abroad and so the cases are being described as 'confirmed community contamination,' 9 News reports.
Both mother and son were treated in an isolation ward and have thankfully made a full recovery.
As Ms Appleby was discharged from hospital, nurses lined the corridors clapping at her as she waved.
A tweet from a local journalist said: "What a woman. 94YO Maureen Appleby has beaten COVID19.
"She’s heading home to Rosanna after this spectacular send off from the nurses who cared for her."
Australia has reported around 6,400 cases of Covid-19, with the rate of daily increases in the low single digits for weeks, although there have been a handful of new clusters over the past week.
The death toll rose to 63 on Wednesday after a woman in her 60s died.
The government hopes to roll-out within weeks a new app that would allow authorities see who users had been in close contact with, and to alert them if anyone nearby had contracted coronavirus.
