Pensioner, 82, in court for 'playing music too loudly'

An 82-year-old has appeared in court charged with breaching an order in regards to playing music too loud.

Ian Trainer, 82, from Eton Drive in Aintree, appeared in court on May 6, charged with breaching the conditions of an order by "playing music too loudly and making banging sounds at prohibited times of the day".

The ECHO understands the music relates to Classic FM being played too loudly.

He is also charged with a public order offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent towards Aimee and Paul Barnes.

The details of the restraining order prohibited him from playing “any audio at a volume above normal talking level” between the hours of 9am and 10pm.

The 82-year-old pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.

He will appear at Liverpool Crown Court for trial on June 3.
