Pensioner, 76, 'headbutted' by gang of youths who were vandalising his home

South Wales Police in Bridgend are conducting investigations after a 76-year-old was allegedly assaulted outside his home.

The attack is said to have happened in the Broadlands area on Park Court Road around 7pm on Tuesday January, 21.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Police in Bridgend are investigating after a pensioner was allegedly assaulted outside his home.

"Officers attended Park Court Road at approximately 7pm following a report that a 76-year-old man had been head-butted after confronting a group of youths who were vandalising his home."

Locals have identified the alleged culprits as a large group of boys and a girl. After the incident they were said to have run up the cycle path towards Broadlands.

A neighbour of the victim who wished to remain anonymous said: "They head-butted him and pushed him to the floor.

"It makes you think what kind of people are living round here."

Inquiries are ongoing to identify and trace those involved, and anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting occurrence 2000025040.
