Pension consultancy Isio's Bristol office boss appointed as partner

The head of pension consultancy Isio’s Bristol office has been made a partner in the firm.

Laura Higgins has been based in the city since the start of her career, having began as an intern at KPMG in 2004 after her studies at the University of Bristol.

As well as continuing to head up the company’s 70-strong workforce in the city, Ms Higgins will head up a dedicated national team working on Isio’s guaranteed minimum pension (GMP) equalisation proposition.

Isio was formed following the sale of KPMG’s pensions business in 2020 and its headcount in Bristol has doubled since then, with its investment advisory team in particular expanding to 16.

Ms Higgins said: “I was KPMG Pensions’ first ever summer intern back in 2004 and I am proud to be here almost 20 years later and being promoted to Partner. I have worked in Bristol for my whole career but have had a wide range of client work having advised local, national, and international clients. As we continue to grow we are creating exciting career opportunities for our talented team here in Bristol and I look forward to continuing this in my role as partner.”

The appointment follows Isio’s announcement that it has completed its acquisition of Deloitte’s Total Reward and Benefits business, cementing its challenger status in the pensions advisory market.
