Summer clothes, beauty and classic NBA gear were among the most popular items snapped up at Penneys this week as those lucky to nab an appointment took to the stores.
With 275,000 appointments booked out across the country until the end of Sunday, lucky shoppers got a sneak peek and a chance to grab the latest fashions ahead of fully reopening on Monday.
And after announcing extended opening hours to celebrate reopening there is sure to be massive demand on Monday morning with queues preparing to enter stores across Dublin.
Other popular items that shoppers snatched up included candles, the new Primark cares Disney range and faux plants and flowers.
Penneys CEO, Paul Marchant, said: “We’ve been blown away by the response to shopping by appointment this week from customers. It has been a fantastic welcome back and we are ready and waiting to fully re-open our doors to everyone from Monday.
"We have plenty of our new season fashion in stock, alongside all our great-value every-day essentials. We have extended opening hours in every store in Ireland to help with queues and customer demand, so there’ll be plenty of time for everyone to visit."
Penneys will continue to have extensive safety measures in place across all stores, including a strict social distancing protocol, limits on the number of customers allowed in store, requiring the use of face coverings in-store, hand sanitisation stations at store entrances, Perspex screens and cubicles at till points and increased in-store cleaning.
