Penn State fan proposes to Michigan fan live on ‘College GameDay’

It wasn’t the first marriage proposal ESPN’s College GameDay this season, but there was something unique about the one that happened during Saturday’s broadcast from Penn State ahead of the Nittany Lions’ game against Michigan.

One person is a Penn State fan and the other a Michigan fan.

Surrounded by a sea of Nittany Lions fans, one woman stood out in her maize and blue sweatshirt. And as the camera panned across the crowd, a Penn State fan opened up his sign, which had “Will you marry me?” written on it, and turned to the lone Wolverine in the area.

And they’re going to be a house divided because after he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring, she said yes on national TV.

It was a moment that stunned even GameDay‘s crew because, as Kirk Herbstreit pointed out, “that wasn’t even staged.”

Congrats to the happy couple — although one person might be a little less happy by the time the game is over.
