Penilee Park Glasgow stabbing: Man rushed to hospital after late-night attack

A man has been stabbed in a late-night attack at Penilee Park.

Emergency services have cordoned off an area in the park this morning and have a launched an investigation into what's being described as a serious assault.

Police were alerted at around 9pm last night and a 45-year-old man was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with a stab wound. Medics describe his condition as stable.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information on the armed assault to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson advised: “Detectives are investigating a serious assault which occurred around 9pm on Tuesday, July 13, within Penilee Park, Glasgow.

"A 45-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to a stab wound. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

"Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 3654 of Tuesday, 13 July, 2021. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
