Penguins center Sidney Crosby and winger Conor Sheary have been diagnosed with concussions, coach Mike Sullivan said Tuesday.
Sullivan said Crosby will sit out Game 4 in the Penguins' second-round playoff series against Washington Wednesday night and will be treated on a day-to-day basis after that.
Crosby was injured when Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen cross-checked him in the head in the first period of the Penguins' 3-2 overtime loss Monday night.
Niskanen was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct but was not given supplemental discipline by the league office.
Sheary was injured when teammate Patric Hornqvist ran into him during Game 3.
