Eventually, systems running Linux will displace systems based on Unix and RISC processors", reports NewsFactor Network. At least at the low end of the scale, it's relatively easy to switch from a proprietary Unix on proprietary hardware to the Gnu/Linux clone of Unix running on Intel. And even if both hardware and software are technically inferior to big vendor Unix offerings, they are much cheaper and much more widely available.
