Another day, another awkward television interview. And this time it was centred around Penelope Cruz’s feet.
Appearing on the Today Show to promote her latest film Zoolander 2, Cruz was asked by the presenter about comments she had reportedly made about her “ugly” feet.
But Cruz insisted she had never actually said that, leading to a slightly awkward exchange.
Presenter Savannah Guthrie asked the actress: “I think you once said it, despite what you look like, you said you have ugly feet. Is that true?”
Cruz shut down those sentiments immediately telling Guthrie: “No, no, no, I haven’t said that. I’m ok with my feet.”
The 41-year-old then told Guthrie her background as a ballet dancer meant her feet were often left in a sore state and she often lost a toenail or two, “that is what I meant,” she told the show.
In an attempt to put an end to the topic, Guthrie concluded: “You’re feet are pretty?”, to which Cruz responded: “I don’t know if they’re pretty, I think they’re normal.”
Today might be the day of awkward interviews, as former Sex And The City actress Kristin Davis vented her frustration on Twitter at being asked to partake in a bizarre, cringeworthy reenactment of the successful sitcom instead of discussing her work with refugees.
