Pence says he "wouldn't know why" Congress would impeach Trump on Mueller report findings

Vice President Mike Pence told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo in an interview broadcast Sunday he "wouldn't know why" there would be a basis for Congress to pursue impeachment proceedings against President Trump now the Russia investigation has concluded.

"The special counsel confirmed that there was no collusion between our campaign and the Russians, and the Department of Justice has confirmed that there was no collusion, no obstruction, the matter is entirely over."

Why it matters: A growing number of congressional Democrats and 2020 Democratic presidential candidates want Trump impeached over the report findings and former special counsel Robert Mueller's public statement last week that "if we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so."
