A 19-year-old man from Pen-y-lan was arrested on Sunday evening (September 19) in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident, which happened in the Sandon Street and Adam Street area shortly before 11pm on Saturday.
The man remains in police custody.
The victim, meanwhile, has been released from the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, following treatment and continues to be supported by her family and specially-trained officers.
Police cordons in the area have now been lifted, but extensive enquiries are ongoing.
