Pelicans vs. Celtics Recap: The good, the bad and the Ball

The Pelicans snapped their losing streak by ending their homestand with a win on an emotional day on Sunday, 123-108.

The Good: Breaking the losing streak

On an emotional night, the Pelicans were able to channel that enough to build an early lead and carry that through the second half to a win. It got interesting down the stretch but New Orleans never trailed in the fourth quarter and, with Zion Williamson closing a game for the first time this season, the Pelicans closed out strong.

Honorable Mention: Williamson, Lonzo lobs

The Bad: Playing a game today

The NBA really got it wrong today by having games at all. Emotions were running high across the league. The games should never have been played. It was a mistake. And it’s hard to criticize any player or team for playing poorly on a day when few had their minds on a simple game.

The Ball: A career-high

After some quiet games in recent outings, Lonzo Ball had a very loud game on Sunday. On a night where he honored Bryant and daughter Gianna, Ball set a career-high in assists with 15 to go with 13 points and six rebounds.
