While much of the last two days of games may have felt like a blur to many, the league has continued on and the Pelicans find themselves teetering back on the edge of the playoffs.
After fighting its way back into the outer skirts of the playoff race, New Orleans has been unable to take a leap into the thick of the race. Miscues last week in losses to the Spurs and Nuggets mean the Pelicans are 4.5 games back of the eight seed without much wiggle room.
The good news is that one of the league’s worst teams hosts the Pelicans on Tuesday in the Cavaliers. Cleveland ranks 29th in the league in net rating and 29th in the league in defensive rating. The Cavaliers rank in the bottom 10 in the league in defending each area of the court aside from long mid-range two-pointers.
