Pelicans release NBA Summer League roster, schedule

The New Orleans Pelicans have set their 13-man roster for the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and, to no surprise, No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson is the biggest name on the roster. However, there are also a few names that familiar to Pelicans fans like Frank Jackson, Trevon Blueiett, Kenrich Williams and Christian Wood.

Here’s the full roster, courtesy of the press release sent out by the team on Monday:

  1. Jalen Adams — G
  2. Javon Bess — G/F
  3. Trevon Bluiett — G
  4. Tony Carr — G
  5. Zylan Cheatham — F
  6. Aubrey Dawkins — G
  7. Makoto Hiejima — G
  8. Frank Jackson — G
  9. London Perrantes — G
  10. Luke Petrasek — F
  11. Kenrich Williams — F
  12. Zion Williamson —F
  13. Christian Wood — C

One might notice that No. 8 overall pick Jaxson Hayes and No. 17 overall Nickeil Alexander-Walker aren’t on the roster, and that’s because the trade that sent No. 4 pick DeAndre Hunter to the Atlanta Hawks can’t be finalized until July 6. So, while they won’t play in the Pelicans’ Summer League opener against the RJ Barrett and the New York Knicks on July 5, they should be good to go when New Orleans takes on the Washington Wizards on July 6.

Here’s the full schedule:

  • Friday, July 5 – 6:30 p.m. vs. Knicks (ESPN)
  • Saturday, July 6 – 7:00 p.m. vs. Wizards (ESPN)
  • Monday, July 8 – 6:30 p.m. vs. Bulls (NBA TV)
  • Wednesday, July 10 – 4:30 p.m. vs. Cavaliers (ESPN 2)

All four of their exhibition games will be played at the Thomas & Mack Center.
