Pelicans announce ticket policy for postponed, canceled games

The New Orleans Pelicans announced Monday that tickets for games impacted by the NBA stoppage will be honored or refunded depending on whether the game is rescheduled or outright canceled.

In a news release, the Pelicans stated:

Tickets already purchased for a postponed game will be honored when the game is rescheduled.

If games are not played or played in an empty arena, fans who purchased through the Pelicans, SeatGeek, or the Smoothie King Center Box Office will have the option to receive a credit for a future Pelicans game or be refunded.

NBA games were suspended Wednesday night after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus. Since, two other NBA players have tested positive.

Commissioner Adam Silver announced a postponement of at least 30 days, and it seems certain that the return will be delayed even further. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that owners and executives are preparing for a three-month break in action as a best-case scenario.
