Fans baffled after discovering Peep Show star's royal connections as she attend Thanksgiving service

St Paul's Cathedral was packed today as people came together for the thanksgiving service to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The congregation included key members of the Royal Family, PM Boris Johnson, who was booed and members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Also among them was a star of the hit comedy Peep Show - and that's because she has royal connections.

Sophie Winkleman, who played Big Suze in the popular show, attended the event, in a stunning pink outfit.

Fans were delighted to spot her - with one tweeting: "I really really really hope Big Suze took Jeremy to the Platinum Jubilee party, please say it’s true Robert Webb."

Another wrote: "So, Big Suze from Peep Show is in the Royal Family. This is epic news to me. And she looks amazing!"

She is married to Lord Frederick Windsor, whose father is the Queen's cousin Prince Michael of Kent, and she is also a half-sister of Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman.

Sophie, an actress who also more recently appeared in This Is Going To Hurt, married Lord Freddie, a financial analyst in 2009. They have two children - eight-year-old Maud and six-year-old Isabella.

And Maud, who was born just a month after Prince George, is among his classmates at their school Thomas's Battersea.

George and Maud started at Thomas's on the same day in September 2017.

Speaking about her name, Lord Freddie told Hello! in 2013: "We liked the idea of an old-fashioned English name and there are a couple of Princess Mauds in my father's family from a hundred years ago – one was the youngest daughter of Edward VII who ended up being Queen of Norway, and another a grand-daughter of Edward VII by his daughter Princess Louise.

"It's also a beautiful, elegant name and it was always our first choice."

She shares a special connection with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter Lilibet - as she too was born in the US.

Due to their lowly ranking in the line of succession, we rarely see Lord Freddie, Sophie, Maud or their youngest daughter Isabella at royal events.

However, Maud did join George and Princess Charlotte when she was a bridesmaid at her godmother Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding in 2018.

She also took on the role of bridesmaid alongside her younger sister at her aunt Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding in May 2019.
