Pedro reveals the truth about his Chelsea future and sends message to supporters

Chelsea winger Pedro has said that a recent interview regarding his future at the club was misinterpreted.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and it's widely expected that he will be released in the summer having fallen down the pecking order under Frank Lampard this term.

It appeared that a decision had already been made amid quotes that were apparently attributed to him from a source in Spain.

"I’m terminating my contract, but right now it’s not the most important thing, nor have I stopped to think about it," Pedro told El Larguero on CADENA SER, as quoted by Sport Witness.

"From there on what has to do with my future will come, but right now it’s not the most important thing when you don’t even know when you’re going to train again."

However, that's not the case. as Pedro insists a decision regarding his future has not been made just yet.

"As many people know, my contract is up in May,’" he told the club's official website.

"But I still haven't spoken to the club about whether or not it will be renewed and whether I'll carry on.

"I've seen loads of messages from Chelsea fans saying goodbye and thanking me for the time I've spent here, which I appreciate, but I'd like to tell all the fans simply that my current contract is coming to an end but I still have to talk to the club.

"I don't know whether I'll keep playing here or not. That conversation is still to come.

"But I have not signed for any other club. I belong to Chelsea.

"I have a contract. My wish is to be able to stay here but obviously we don't know what will happen. I have to speak to the club and let's see what happens."
