I am a simple girl. I love my hot guys and I love watching their movies. It’s as simple as that. But one thing I am now, fortunately, known for is my deep love of Harrison Ford. He is the man who made me realize that I loved guys, after all.
Ford, known for playing iconic roles like Indiana Jones and Han Solo, was at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982 for the film E.T. the Terrestrial. His ex-wife, Melissa Mathison, wrote the screenplay and while the film was out of competition, it did give me one of my favorite pictures of Harrison Ford of all time.
The picture features Ford standing in a short pair of shorts, long sleeve blue sweater, and some sunglasses with the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France behind him. It has, in the past, been one of my lock screens on my cellphone and the picture itself is one of those things that I just cherish. To be fair, if someone asks what my type of man is, I kind of just pull up pictures of Harrison Ford from the early 80s.
But Pedro Pascal decided to have me and my Ford loving heart in mind when he recreated the iconic picture of Ford during his trip to Cannes for his new A24 film Eddington.
Okay I’m not a fool, I know that I’m far from the only person who loves Ford, but it is kind of funny that this happened with two actors I love very dearly. Someone on X called it “Rachel Leishman” coded so at least I am not out of pocket saying that this feels like something that was geared towards me.
It’s such a simple thing but I do love when actors we know and love pay homage to the icons of the past. In men’s fashion, we often hear of actors referencing Ford and his legacy for their looks. And if that means recreating iconic Harrison Ford pictures, I have some requests from the actors I love.
