Pedro confirms Chelsea exit after five years at Stamford Bridge with farewell post

Pedro has confirmed his five-year stay with Chelsea has now come to an end in an emotional farewell post.

The 32-year-old, who signed a short-term extension to remain a Chelsea player until the season's end, will play in Italy next season having agreed a two-year deal with Roma.

The prolific Spaniard scored 43 goals in 201 games after joining Chelsea in 2015, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and the Europa League in that time.

Pedro played just 18 times this season under Frank Lampard and missed Chelsea's final game of the campaign - a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich - after requiring surgery following a shoulder dislocation in their FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.

"After five wonderful years my stage at Chelsea FC comes to an end," Pedro wrote on Instagram.

After five wonderful years my stage at Chelsea FC comes to an end. Thanks a lot to the club’s board, to the coaches and teammates I’ve had, and of course to the fans: thank you for the experience of being a member of your big family. I’ve been very happy here, you’ve made me feel like home. It’s been a pleasure and an honour to play for this club and win the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League titles, as well as competing in one of the world's best football leagues. I made the right choice, I take with me wonderful and unforgettable memories. I say farewell very pleased with this stage of my career, and I'm also very excited with the next to begin. Thanks and good luck for the future. Come on Blues!!! Come on Blues!!! 🔵🔝@ChelseaFC #KTBFFH #CFC

Chelsea have already completed the signings of both Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech and now look to bring Kai Havertz to Stamford Bridge.

And with Pedro falling down the pecking order this season, his game time was likely to be further limited.

Regardless, the serial winner leaves Stamford Bridge as an undoubted success.
