Pedro casts doubt over Chelsea future and is coy over links to La Liga return

Pedro Rodriguez has said that he is open to listening to offers from other clubs while awaiting a meeting with Chelsea to discuss his future.

The Spanish veteran's contract runs out at Stamford Bridge on June 30 and he is widely expected to leave London with interest from clubs in Major League Soccer and La Liga.

Real Betis are among those interested in the 32-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2015.

Alan Smith's Chelsea Q&A on Kepa, Kante and the transfer market

"I have to talk to the club, I have a contract until June 30th. I'm open to hearing other offers. Betis? I don't know, a meeting with Chelsea is pending," Pedro said in an interview with radio station El Larguero.

"The coronavirus situation affected everything, so at the moment we are waiting for a meeting with Chelsea.

"I know that the contract is concluding but we have not yet sat down to discuss whether to renew and continue here or not.

"I’m waiting for the meeting with the club but I am also open to listening to other offers. The priority right now is completing my contract, then we’ll see what happens."

Pedro has scored once and created one assist this season having fallen down the pecking order in Frank Lampard's young squad.

The former Spain international has featured in a little over a quarter of the club's games this season.

There remains no update on Willian's situation amid links with Tottenham Hotspur, while Marco van Ginkel and veteran goalkeeper Willy Caballero are also out of contract at the end of next months.

Clubs could negotiate short-term extensions to the end of the delayed season should the Premier League resume as part of Project Restart.

Chelsea have already extended Olivier Giroud's contract by 12 months.
