'Pedraza pocketing Fernandes' - Leeds United fans revel in ex-loanee's win over Man Utd

Leeds United fans have been revelling in the news former loanee Alfonso Pedraza was at the heart of Manchester United’s Europa League heartache last night.

The 25-year-old played 88 minutes of the Gdansk final on Wednesday evening as Villareal ultimately defeated the Red Devils 11-10 on penalties after coming through two hours at 1-1.

Ordinarily, there would have been zero interest in such a match for Whites fans, beyond the usual hate for the Manchester club and desire to see them suffer.

However, the left-sided wide man is now flourishing in the upper reaches of European football despite underwhelming in 14 appearances at Leeds in 2017.

Naturally, in taking any excuse to gloat about pain for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, the Whites faithful enjoyed backing their old man last night.

Pedraza was one of the final few signings with Massimo Cellino’s fingerprints on as he moved from the La Liga outfit on loan in January of the 2016/17 campaign.

The Spaniard’s finest hour in a white shirt was undoubtedly the late third goal in a 3-1 win at Birmingham City on March 3 of that campaign. His only goal.
