Pedestrians seriously injured in car crash outside Collie hotel

Police have cordoned off Throssell Street as investigations continue.

Two women sustained serious injuries when they were struck by a car outside a hotel in Western Australia's South West late last night.

Police were called to the Crown Hotel in Collie just after 11:00pm.

A 23-year-old woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by helicopter and is in a critical condition, while an 18-year-old was taken to Collie Hospital in a serious condition but has since been released.

The Member for Collie, Mick Murray, was briefed by police.

"I think it's a very sad state of affairs," he said.

"I'm assuming being Thursday night that people were out just enjoying themselves, and not being able to come home safe, I think is wrong."

He expressed shock over the crash.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
