Pedestrian taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car in Gatley

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by car in Gatley.

The collision happened on Styal Road, between Church Road and Hollyhedge Road, at around 3.15pm today (Satruday, April 18).

Police have not said whether the casualty was male or female. They were taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and has been arrested.

Styal Road has been closed by police.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on Gatley Road at around 3.15pm.

"It was a car versus pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"Road closures are in place."

The police spokesman added: "The vehicle stopped at the scene and the driver has been arrested."
