A man has suffered a serious injury after he was hit by a car in Bolton this afternoon (Monday).
The pedestrian, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, was struck just after 5.10pm on Victoria Road, Horwich.
The residential road has been taped off by police.
Paramedics are at the scene, a GMP spokeswoman said.
She said: "We were called to reports of a collision shortly after 5.10pm.
"It looks as though a car has collided with a pedestrian. Paramedics are at the scene. It appears to be a serious injury."
The spokeswoman could not confirm whether the man's injuries were believed to be life threatening.
GMP Bolton North tweeted about the incident, urging drivers to avoid the area.
The tweet, put up at 5.35pm, said: "Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident on Victoria Road, Horwich.
"The road is currently closed. Please use an alternative route."
