Pedestrian struck by Metra UP-N train in Evanston

A Metra train struck a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon in suburban Evanston.

The person was hit by an out-of-service train traveling just before 3 p.m. near the Davis Street station, according to Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.

Inbound and outbound Metra UP-N trains were stopped near Davis Street, Gillis said.

The condition of the person struck by the train was not immediately known.
