Pedestrian struck by car on Union Street as emergency crews race to scene

A pedestrian has been struck by a car on Union Street.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene near Central Station at around 7:50pm tonight.

The extent of the person's injuries is not yet known.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed officers were in attendance but could not release any more information at this time.

The street was closed to traffic between Gordon Street and Argyle Street but has now reopened.
