Pedestrian rushed to hospital after being hit by bus in Scots town centre

A 52-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in a Scottish town centre.

The collision happened in Uddingston’s Main Street, Lanarkshire, shortly before 4.30pm on Sunday.

The road was closed for more than an hour by emergency services as the incident was dealt with. The man was taken away to University Hospital Monklands in an ambulance.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been asked for details on the man's condition.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road crash, involving a male pedestrian and a bus, on Main Street in Uddingston around 4.25pm on Sunday, 19 September, 2021.

“The 52-year-old male pedestrian was taken to University Hospital Monklands for treatment and the road was re-opened around 5.30pm.”
