Pedestrian left with 'life-threatening injuries' following city centre crash

A pedestrian has been left with "life-threatening injuries" following a crash in Bristol city centre.

Police were called to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in the early hours of this morning (February 9).

A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service at around 4am.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary have now appealed for anyone who saw the collision, which took place in Lewins Mead, to get in touch.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at just after 4am today (February 9) by the ambulance service following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Lewins Mead, Bristol.

“The pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and he’s been taken to hospital for treatment.

“If anyone saw this collision, or has information which could help us, including any dash cam footage, then please call us on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5220032516."
