Pedestrian in hospital with "serious head injury" after being hit by a bus in Leeds

A 41-year-old man is in hospital with a serious head injury after being hit by a bus in Leeds today (Monday).

The injured man was hit by a single-decker bus on York Street about 8.05am.

He was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment however his current condition is not yet known.

It is understood the man was in the road when he was hit - just past the junction with Duke Street.

Police investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses.

A police spokesman said: "Roads policing officers in Leeds would like to speak with anyone who witnessed or has footage of the incident which took place at about 8.05am on York Street in Leeds today.

"Anyone who saw what took place or has information, dashcam or mobile phone footage is asked to phone PC 1955 Dawson at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 - referencing police number 13190501146."
