A pedestrian has been left with potentially life threatening injuries after a hit-and-run in County Durham.
The man, who is in his 60s, was knocked down by a car on Front Street, Leadgate, near Consett , on Saturday afternoon.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle suffering from serious head injuries following the collision at around 4.10pm.

The vehicle involved in the collision , a silver Suburu Forester, failed to stop at the scene.
Police are now searching for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward to help them with their investigation.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has Dashcam footage.
"Anyone who has any further information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101 quoting incident number DHM-30032019-0314."
