A pedestrian has died in Manchester after a collision with a cyclist while he was crossing the road.

The collision, which took place in Wilmslow Road on June 20, left the pedestrian, 56, with serious head injuries.

He was rushed to hospital but died on Sunday, police said.

Officers believe the cyclist remained on the scene after the Wilmslow Road crash and have asked for his help with the investigation.

Police Sergeant Andrew Page said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts and sympathies are with the loved ones of the man at this desperately sad time.

“We recognise that the cyclist will be unaware of the sad developments since the collision occurred but we appeal to him directly to get in touch with us and help establish the circumstances so we can fully understand how this incident happened.

“Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who could have dash cam footage of the incident should also contact police as this would significantly aid our enquiries.”

Anyone with any information should contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident number 3759 of 27/06/2020.
