Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in early morning smash in Fife

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in the early hours of this morning in Fife .

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the A915 Largo Road in Leven at around 2.20am on Sunday, March 1 after a 59-year-old man was hit by a car.

Sadly the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 22-year-old driver of the vehicle was left unhurt following the incident .

The road is currently closed while enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Cops are now asking any witnesses of the incident, or any motorists in the area at the time to come forward.

People who live in the area are also being asked to check house CCTV footage.

A Police Scotland statement read: "Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately via 101, quoting incident number 0594 of Sunday, 1 March, 2020."
