Pedestrian dead after serious road crash on A82 near Inverness

A pedestrian has died following a serious road crash on the A82 near Inverness.

Police were called to the scene between Drumnadrochit and Inverness at around 1.15pm on Friday.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a pedestrian died in the incident.

Police are not releasing any other details about the person killed at present.

A 26-mile diversion was in place earlier while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called around 1.15pm to a report of a serious road traffic collision on the A82 involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
