Pedestrian, 62, dies after being hit by car on M1

Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on the M1.

At around 5.30am on Monday January 20, police received reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian between Junction 36 and Junction 35A on the M1 southbound.

The pedestrian, a 62-year-old Sheffield man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by South Yorkshire Police officers.

The M1 has been re-opened following an investigation at the scene. 

Police are asking anyone who saw the collision, or anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
