Pedestrian, 30s, in critical condition following collision with van near Dublin Airport

A man is in critical condition following a collision with a van near Dublin Airport.

The collision involved the van and three pedestrians on St Margaret's Road at the back of Dublin Airport yesterday evening at 5.10pm.

All three pedestrians, two men in their 30s and a man in his 20s, and one of the men is in critical condition in hospital.

The driver of the van was not injured, and the road was closed to traffic until this morning.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or have information, including those with dash cams, to contact gardai.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a serious road traffic collision involving a van and three pedestrians that occurred on St. Margarets Road, Finglas, Dublin 11, on 9/1/20 at approximately 5:10pm.

"The pedestrians, two men aged in their 30s and one man in his 20s, were taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. One man, aged in his 30s, is understood to be in a critical condition. The driver of the van, a man aged in his 20s, was not injured.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users who may have dash cam footage available, to contact Gardaí in Finglas on 01 666 7000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

"Investigations are ongoing."
