Pedestrian, 23, dies after being hit by vehicle

A pedestrian has died after a crash, police have confirmed.

A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Friday January 28.

North Wales Police say they were called to the incident on the A525 Rhuddlan Road, near the Talardy Hotel, St Asaph at 9.20pm. It has been confirmed that the deceased is from out of the area.

The road was closed overnight, re-opening at around 9:40am this morning, January 29.

The force has now issued a statement asking anyone who saw the crash to come forward to help officers with their enquiries.

In a statement, North Wales Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision this evening involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the A525 Rhuddlan Road, near the Talardy Hotel, St Asaph at 9.20pm this evening (January 28)."

Speaking to North Wales Live last night, Sergeant Jason Diamond of the Road Policing Unit said: "Sadly, this evening, officers attended a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 23-year-old male from out of the area was pronounced dead at the scene.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have seen a male walking on the road around this time to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via live web chat quoting incident number B013043.”
