Cardiff bike charity Pedal Power is up for a national community award, it has been announced.

The Cardiff west based organisation which runs training and bike hire for adults and children is one of three nominated for the Natwest Community Fund Awards and could win £3,000.

On the community funds website, Pedal Power states the project benefits the community:

Opening daily, Pedal Power's unique facility has a fleet of bikes that caters for everyone's needs. It brings communities together through cycling, volunteering, cycle training, coffee mornings, quizzes, and sponsored and group bike rides.

What do you plan to use the Community Fund money for?

It would be used to purchase two bikes which are needed to meet the needs of our cyclists. These cost over £6,000, but we already have £3,000, and are presently raising the balance. One bike is like a tandem, where the child will sit in front of the parent/cyclist and still be able to cycle.

To vote for Pedal Power visit this website and enter the postcode CF51WX and click 'Canton Cardiff' and vote.
