Peckham High Street crash: Man dies after being struck by lorry in south London

A man has died after being hit by a lorry on a busy south London street.

The pedestrian, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene on Peckham High Street at around 1pm.

Emergency services, including London Air Ambulance, rushed to the collision at 12.58pm but were unable to resuscitate the victim.

Police are working to inform the next of kin.

MPS Southwark said the lorry driver has not been arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Roads remain closed in both directions and motorists are advised to use alternative routes where possible.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or obtained dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CAD 3432/8 Jan.
