Peatling cops one-game ban for NBL brawl

Melbourne United's Mason Peatling has been suspended for one game for his actions in a wild scuffle while nine others have been fined for their roles in two separate incidences in the NBL on the weekend.

Peatling charged into South East Melbourne Phoenix star Mitch Creek after he had completed a monster dunk over Australian Boomers teammate Matthew Dellavedova.

Creek bounced to his feet and reacted to Peatling, sparking wild scenes that dragged United's David Barlow off the bench.

An early guilty plea saw Peatling's suspension for unduly rough play and engaging in a melee reduced from two games to one, while Creek and teammates Izayah Le'afa (Phoenix) and Kyle Adnam (Phoenix) were fined $375 for engaging in a melee.

Veteran Barlow was fined $375 for clearing the bench, as was assistant coach Justin Schueller for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Another scuffle in the Sydney Kings-Illawarra Hawks derby saw Angus Glover, Xavier Cooks (Kings), Justinian Jessup and Sam Froling fined $375 for engaging in a melee or brawl.

All fines were reduced from $500 due to early guilty pleas.
