Two-time UFC veteran Pearl Gonzalez will take part in her second straight Invicta FC headliner following a change to the schedule.
Promotion officials recently announced that Gonzalez (9-4) will take on Brogan Sanchez (6-0) in the flyweight main event of Invicta FC 37, which takes place Oct. 4 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan. As with all Invicta FC events, the card streams in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
Invicta FC 37 was set to be headlined by atomweight champ Jinh Yu Frey (8-4) vs. Ashley Cummins (7-4). However, injury has forced Frey out of the bout, and promotion officials announced it will now take place at Invicta FC 39 at a date yet to be announced.
Gonzalez was last in action in February, when she unsuccessfully challenged for the promotions then-vacant flyweight title, suffering a loss via technical decision after inadvertently eye-poking Vanessa Porto, sending the bout to the cards in the fourth round. The result was Gonzalez’s first loss since her brief UFC run, halting a three-fight winning streak.
Meanwhile, the undefeated Walker returns to action following a July win over Miranda Maverick. Walker’s past two wins have come via split decision, though they’ve both come against opponents who also entered the contests with undefeated records.
