Peaky Blinders wraps filming on its sixth and final season with special tribute to Helen McCrory

Peaky Blinders wrapped filming on its sixth and final season this week.

The show’s director Anthony Byrne shared the news on Instagram saying: “Done & Done & Done.”

He posted a picture of himself alongside his assistant director, Jon Midlane, and director of photography, Mathieu Plainfossé.

Plainfossé added: “That’s a wrap. What a journey, thank you to these two amazing men.”

In the photo, Byrne held a clapperboard, dedicated to the late actress Helen McCrory.

The late star, who played the show’s matriarch Polly Gray, passed away last month aged 52 after a battle with cancer.

Paying tribute to her, Irish star of the show Cillian Murphy told The Guardian: “Oh, man. She was my closest colleague on Peaky, and one of the finest actors I’ve ever worked opposite.

“Any material, any scene … she made it special.

“She could do power and vulnerability, one after the other.

“She was just so cool and fun, and had such compassion for everyone she met.

“I was kind of in awe about how she lived her life – the way she balanced her work and her family so beautifully.”
