Peaky Blinders star Sam Claflin splits from wife Laura Haddock after six years

Peaky Blinders and Hunger Games star Sam Claflin has announced his split from his wife of six years.

Sam and Laura Haddock, who married in 2013, explained why they have decided to split in a joint statement.

Posting on his Instagram story, Sam said: "Laura and I have decided to legally separate. We will move forward with nothing but love, friendship and a deep respect for one another whilst we continue to raise our family together.

"We won't be commenting on this further. Thank you in advance for your support and respecting our privacy at this time. Both of us x"

Sam and Guardians of the Galaxy star Laura, both 33, started dating in 2011 after meeting in an audition room.

They married two years later.

Speaking previously about Laura, Sam said: "I walked into an audition room, I saw her and I knew. I’m not kidding for the life of me. She was reading in for a part and it’s my fourth free call.

"I’ve done previously three auditions with this other girl reading and this girl walked in and I walked out the audition, couldn’t care less if I got the part.

"I called my agent, I said, 'Mate, I am in love'. He’s like, 'How did the audition go, mate?' I was like, 'No, no, you don’t understand. I have just met the woman I want to marry'."

Sam said after heading out to a party that night he ended up bumping into Laura at a tube station at 5am.

They went on to have two children together, a son born in 2015 and a daughter born last year.
