Peaky Blinders star Charlene McKenna 'gutted' after losing wedding ring while filming in Cork

Irish actress Charlene McKenna has issued an appeal to the public after losing a precious item while filming a new television project in Co Cork.

The Peaky Blinders and Bloodlands star lost her wedding ring while on set at Tralispean Beach in Skibbereen, West Cork yesterday.

The Monaghan actress was shooting scenes for the television adaptation of Graham Norton’s novel Holding when she lost the ring.

Taking to Instagram stories this afternoon, Charlene said she was "gutted" after misplacing the sentimental item.

She is appealing to West Cork locals to keep an eye out for the plain gold wedding band in the area.

“Lovely people of West Cork I lost my wedding ring filming on Tralispean Beach in Skibbereen yesterday," she said.

“I am absolutely gutted. If anyone sees a little plain gold wedding band please contact me here.

“Our things were back near the wall so we don’t think the tide could take it."

The 37-year-old tied the knot with American actor Adam Rothenberg in January.

The wedding was an intimate lockdown ceremony at Castle Leslie in her home county of Monaghan, with just six guests in attendance.

Newlyweds Charlene and Adam first met whilst working on Ripper Street in 2012, and went on to form a connection during a friendly coffee date at Bewley's.

Recalling when she first laid eyes on him, she told Ray D’Arcy on his RTE Radio show : “You know really, I can.

“As two actors we had to meet up to talk about our scenes that week because it was the first week of the shoot and the director was like maybe you should have a coffee and talk it out.

“And we went to Bewley's and had a coffee and I have very fond memories of Bewley's because of it because I’ve never met anyone like him.”

“And then we just worked together for the next few months and nothing really happened.

“And then we started gently dating, it was long distance and it was awkward but sure look, here we are it’s still awkward."
