Peaky Blinders season 6: Where was the final series filmed?


Peaky Blinders season six will to return to our screens this weekend.

The final series of the period drama charting Tommy Shelby's rise to power begins on February 27.

The latest season will take place in 1933 - and explores the impact on British society after Prohibition ended in the USA and the Nazi Party seized control in Germany.

Although the series is set in Birmingham's Small Heath, the filming of the programme has taken place in many areas across the North West.

The production of the series regularly takes place in Liverpool - and we've rounded up some of the latest filming locations from the upcoming season.

St George's Hall

Season six will explore the growth in membership of the British Union of Fascists as tensions in Europe rise after the Nazi party seized control in Germany.

Sam Claflin will return as the fascist group's leader, Oswald Moseley, and Cillian Murphy's Tommy will act as his deputy.

The iconic St George's Hall was transformed into the site of a fascist rally as Nazi flags are visible in scenes filmed last March.

Tense scenes from the trailer show a protest being held at the landmark against the fascist movement.

Bramley Moore Dock

Stephen Graham has joined the cast of the BBC programme and was spotted filming scenes at Bramley Moore Dock in May,

The 48-year-old donned full period attire in a post shared by the Peaky Blinders Twitter account.

It said: "We’re thrilled that @StephenGraham73 has joined the cast of #PeakyBlinders series 6."

There's been speculation as to what role Stephen's new character will play with some suggesting he could be playing the part of Chicago mob boss, Al Capone.

Anglican Cathedral

The opening of the season six trailer shows Tommy Shelby approaching the altar at a stunning church.

The grand surroundings and stained glass window visible is the famous Te Deum window from inside the Anglican Cathedral.

Arley Hall

Tommy Shelby's rise to power has been documented across six seasons of the popular BBC programme.

The beautiful mansion he now calls home symbolises how far Tommy has come since he returned from World War One.

Hotel Gotham

The season six trailer shows Tommy speeding towards a stunning hotel.

The beautiful Art Deco building is the five star Hotel Gotham located in Manchester.

The building has been transformed into the Midland Hotel for season six and will provide the backdrop to another dramatic chapter in the Tommy Shelby story in the latest season.
