Peaky Blinders season 5 trailer might have confirmed most horrifying death yet

We have lost some major characters in our time with the Shelby family.

The most tragic deaths in the BBC gangster drama Peaky Blinders have seen us lose the likes of John Shelby (Joe Cole) and Grace Burgess (Annabelle Wallis), but this one could tip our favourite gangster/politician Tommy Shelby ( Cillian Murphy ) over the edge.

The dramatic and must-anticipated footage have fans their first real look at the new episodes when the BBC released the footage.

However, one frame is causing some concern to fans.

One shot in the trailer shows Tommy Shelby with his daughter Ruby looking over a grave.

But where is his young son Charles Shelby from his marriage to Grace?

Elsewhere in the trailer, Tommy is seen cradling a body after an explosion too.

Peaky Blinders is back (BBC)

Could Tommy be about to lose his beloved son and heir in his new battle with season 5 villain Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin)?

The fascist British politician will cross paths with Tommy Shelby in the new season and is based on the infamous politician of the same name .

Is Tommy's biggest danger in season 5 getting on the wrong side of a rising far right populism?

We will have to wait and see.

Also returning for the new season are stern Aunt Polly Gray ( Helen McCrory ), troubled Arthur Shelby ( Paul Anderson ) and shrewd Ada Thorne (Sophie Rundle).

Peaky Blinder season 5 premieres on August 25, 2019.
