Peaky Blinders Season 5 lands on Netflix today

Season 5 of the highly popular BBC period drama Peaky Blinders has landed on Netflix streaming services today, April 22.

The Bafta-winning show, which stars Cillian Murphy, has become one of the BBC's most popular dramas ever, and has developed a massive fan base over the years.

Season 5 of the show originally aired during the summer in 2019, but this is the first time that users of Netflix will be able to watch all six episodes of the new series on the service.

The fifth series picks up following the dramatic finale of Season 4, where Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) was elected as an MP to the UK's House of Commons.

The new episodes also deal with the Peaky Blinders responding to fallout from the 1929 Wall Street Crash.

The cast for season five sees some familiar faces return to our screens, in the form of Charlie Murphy (as trade union leader Jessie Eden), Kingsley Ben-Adir (as Colonel Ben Younger), Harry Kirton (as Finn Shelby), Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs), Ned Dennehy (as Uncle Charlie), Ian Peck (as Curly), Benjamin Zephaniah (as Jeremiah Jesus).

The new series comes to Netflix today following the news that filming for the upcoming sixth season has been postponed last month due to the coronavirus outbreak.

With the delay in filming, there's better time to catch up on everything you've missed so far.

Season 5 of Peaky Blinders is available across all streaming services today.
