Peaky Blinders fans 'work out' Stephen Graham's mysterious new role

Peaky Blinders have 'worked out' who Stephen Graham will play in the sixth series - and it's a huge role.

The first episode of the final series aired last night, but the Kirkby-born actor didn't appear.

However, the return of The Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy, who reprised her role as Gina Gray, Michael's American wife, started several rumours as to who Stephen will play.

Ahead of the show airing, the actress shared two stills from the episode which sees her with a finger wave hairstyle while perched on a velvet sofa holding a drink, and another of her staring intently at Tommy Shelby.

She captioned the post: "Something wicked this way comes..."

And last night, fans discovered the head of Gina's family is her uncle, Jack Nelson.

Uncle Jack is a wealthy businessman who made his money through criminal means.

He now runs the city of Boston but plans to buy "all the best Scotch and Irish whiskey distilleries" in the UK.

At the end of the episode, viewers discovered that Uncle Jack is on his way to the UK, with his wife, mistress, President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s son and Gina.

And Peaky Blinders fans think Stephen will be playing the notorious Uncle Jack.

Ameen tweeted: "Stephen Graham is gonna be Jack Nelson isn’t he #PeakyBlinders."

Jay said: "Is Stephen Graham playing Jack Nelson do we know? I hope so!"

Fraser tweeted: "Is Stephen Graham Uncle Jack?"

Conroy said: "So is this Boston boss gonna be Stephen Graham?"

But Vishal added: "Interested to see who Stephen Graham is playing. I don’t think it will be Uncle Jack from what we’ve seen of the teasers/trailers."
