During President Biden's commencement address at Morehouse College, a small group of individuals engaged in a peaceful protest by turning their backs on the president. Among the approximately 470 graduates in attendance, at least seven students were observed sitting with their backs to President Biden. Additionally, a faculty member stood at the back of the venue, raising a fist in the air throughout the speech.

Despite concerns of disruptions, the protest remained silent and non-disruptive. Morehouse College's president had cautioned against major disruptions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining decorum during the ceremony. President Biden, while not directly acknowledging the protest, expressed his respect for peaceful demonstrations and the right of individuals to voice their opinions.

The issue of Gaza featured prominently in both the valedictorian's speech and President Biden's address. Both speakers called for immediate and permanent ceasefires in Gaza, highlighting the humanitarian crisis and the need for urgent action to protect innocent lives.

President Biden commended the graduating class, recognizing them as future leaders within the black community. He aimed to celebrate their achievements and the significance of the moment for both the graduates and their families.

The protest at Morehouse College serves as a reflection of the ongoing concerns and frustrations surrounding the conflict in Gaza, particularly among young voters. President Biden's remarks sought to address these concerns while also emphasizing the importance of peaceful protest and the need for humanitarian intervention in Gaza.
