Mr. Sermsakool Klaikaew, Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Governor and PEA executives has received 46 Outstanding Official Information Center Awards 2017 from Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Omsin Chiwaphruek, on occasion of 19th Anniversary of Official Information Act, B.E. 2540 (1997), at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House on September 15, 2017.
Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has envisioned 2017 as the “Year of Official Information Centres”, assigning for all government units to have the official information centres for people to perceive disclosure and transparency of information. This included assessments of official information centres throughout Thailand by the Office of the Official Information Commission (OIC), Office of the Permanent Secretary, and 46 PEA Information Service Centres have selected as the Outstanding Official Information Centres in 2017.
The PEA policy puts great emphasis on disclosure of official information to the public to enhance good governance and anti-corruption, in line with the core policy laid down by the Ministry of Interior. PEA has meanwhile implemented the PEA 2.0 Transparency Policy according to the PEA 4.0 Policy whereby the Official Information Committee monitors and supervises PEA Information Service Centres nationwide to ensure best practice of PEA information disclosure in accordance with the law.
PEA Information Service Centres, as a role model among the best official information centres of Thailand, provides standardized information services in 74 provinces across the country. PEA has been recognised as the “Outstanding Organisation with Best Practice Official Information Centres” ever since 2012.
